Andre Cisco Earns Street & Smith's Preseason All-America Honors

Lot of respect for Andre still. He'll need to be better than he was last year, but I have no doubt he'll be very motivated and take his game to the next level

I’m just going to fill the negative Syracusefan poster slot before anyone can get to it, so we all don’t have to sit through it...

And done.
Eh, it's not always stated with much tact, but part of the thing that's cool about Thong Song is that he does have room to get better and be even more dominant. He's so exceptionally skilled in some areas that it almost makes where he's not as strong more glaring.

He makes strides to be a more complete player (and I have no doubt he will) and the sky is the limit for him. We haven't had many you could say that about, especially recently.

He played 9 games out of 12 and with the exception of the interception stat, his stats were on par with 2018 in which he played a full 12 games. What more does he need to do?

His coverage stats were on par as his freshman year despite playing less games, that is not good.

The good news is sophomore slumps happen all of the time and players rebound. And despite his struggles last year he was still able to make some plays.

Hale's metrics don't account for the fact that the LB corps completely turned over from 2018 to 2019. Once a receiver or back gets beyond the second level, you're in trouble regardless of your skill level.

So it's the LBs responsibility to always run with faster WRs 15+ yards downfield?

The safeties were non-existent in the Louisville game. Cisco is our 3rd best DB behind Trill and Iffy. Consistency is better in the long term then flash.

I got killed for this during the season. I do however have faith that he will make some strides and hopefully he's 3 and out with a 1st-2nd round draft grade. That would be great for the program.

I won't feel bad about criticizing mistakes a player makes, especially if there is a pattern. My criticism doesn't mean I don't think the player I'm criticizing is good or even great. Why does it have to be one way or the other? We can celebrate a players strengths while bemoaning his weaknesses. I believe Darius recieved a little critiquing for missing the chance at some interceptions because he went for bone crushing hits or got caught peaking in the backfield now and then. I still thought he was great and I'm glad Cisco is ours.

Not to makes excuses for him, but he was also dinged up last year. I would be curious to see if someone has done a deep dive to see the numbers for his first couple of games back from the injury, when he clearly wasn't at his best versus, say the last three games when he seemed to be close to 100%.

I bet he’s graded first round, goes mid second. Safeties arent early takes lately.
