You guys are funny. I'll bite (even though I think it has been discussed in other threads "A bigger, better rebounding Otis Hill...Arinze as a Junior..." I have never seen him play in person but have poured over nearly every clip of him that is available at JD, AAU and International ball: Very soft touch around the rim. He's able to use his body, positioning (although that could use a little improvement) and touch around the rim to be that player you throw it down on the block to and expect a bucket or a foul. He appears to be a pretty good foul shooter as well. The importance of this cannot be played up enough; there is a dearth of players who can do this (have position on the block and have something good happen 90% of the time) in the college game. I mean Arinze could do it and if he could of just made foul shots - 17 or 18 point scorer at least. Now what makes him even more of a special talent is he shows signs of having a jump shot (good form) and shows sign of some dribbling ability. If developed that could make him a dominant scorer in terms of being able get the ball a few feet further from the basket than you would think for a man his size. Using his footwork and dribbling he'd be able to avoid traffic better than one might think. This is something that, imo, won't be apparent until the end of year 2 or start of year 3. If he's here that long it will be fun to see. He is not a tremendous rebounder but he is definitely above average. When the ball is in his area he shows the ability to get people out of the way and use good hands to tip it to himself if need be. DC2 is a better athlete than he looks...he could be a dominant rebounder. Maybe I have not seen enough, but he could become that kind of force. An above average to good passer; he is definitely going to be at the top of the key looking to make that high low pass. Good outlet passer. Defense: I don't have a good sense of this at all. For sure he's not a shot blocking force. There are a few clips of him blocking some poor 6'1" forward but who knows how this will translate. My guess on his positional defense is that it will be very good. He's a smart player, he knows how to use his body and normally players who show those traits and are not weak side help demons (i.e. Wesley or possibly even Xmas) play some solid, underrated man up D. Hope that helps.
