I am not a huge TC fan, we all know the pros and cons he brings... that said, i cant deny he plays the zone D very well. His experience up there can not be duplicated and he plays it well. For defense and hustle alone, he deserves his 35+ minutes.

As for offense though, he needs to chill with the launches from deep. Truth is, we have three better scoring options now. Three better shooters as well. Hell, i dont think a single shot Lydon has taken this year has even hit the rim !!! Swish city. If TC can accept being more of a slasher and selective shooter, this team can be elite. I really believe that. Our shooting is not a fluke. Its different than what we are used to, but its a poor mans Iowa State... and they have been a force for a decade now.

What a fun team though. Bombs away !!!

Actually, Lydon launched a prayer today as shot clock was running out.
Hit the rim, but it was such a soft sweet shot, it still bounced up and in.

shooters get rolls, it is what it is...
I would take Lydon shooting a 3 over TC 100 times out of 100. Kid is lights out. he will be in the show next year.

They take completely different 3's because of the position they play.

To add onto this, Lydon is wide open often out there when G and Cooney are on the perimeter as well.

This all works so much better when you have multiple three point threats. Lydon is getting the same looks as Fair got his Jr year when he had a nasty % out there.

Am I the only one who didn't see many bad shots from Cooney today? I don't recall many off-balance attempts from deep and definitely don't remember seeing any that were super deep.

He was 2-8. That's not a good percentage, but within the acceptable range for a 3-point shooter. Rautins had games like that and he had one the the sweetest strokes I've seen.

My pet peeve is when he or anybody launches a quick one so early in the clock. Other than that, he's exactly the person we often regret not having.

Exactly. It is soooo much better for the team that we have multiple options now instead of 1 or 2. It's a thing of beauty.

He didn't shoot the 3 well at all this week. But he has so much more to his game. Taking some 3's allows him to drive to the basket which he's doing more now. If he stopped shooting them at all then it makes it tougher for the others. He's also become more a distributed. He draws attention then finds the open man. He and G have a good thing going with both being able to hit the 3, drive or pass. Then with Lydon and Mal...wow.

Cooney hasn't even began to be a true second option let alone fist on this team. But this team really hasn't needed one they are so unselfish. And he is more then capable of being the guy to take over some nights :)

Comical. At least it explains you're inability to give credit where credit is due.

BTW--what you've already made your mind up about what Trevor is as a player, it isn't accurate.

agree to disagree. i played college ball and coached it as well. i know what Trevor is. Hes a nice complimentary player who has been forced (and allowed) to be more than that for the last couple years. If you cant see that we have multiple better scorers than him this year, then i cant help ya. To each his own my man...

exactly. hes a 4th option and thats a good thing. And I dont think hes a selfish player, i think JB has urged him to chuck over his career. He is a slasher though as well, and has gotten better at it. I would rather Trevor take AT MOST five threes a game. More than that is taking away from guys who have a better stroke and percentage. IMO.

Did you really just play the "I played college ball" card?

He IS a nice complimentary player. And now, on this team, with his experience and versatility, we're seeing him excel. If you don't see that, or are congenitally incapable of acknowledging how well he's played, then I can't help ya.

I don't think he took any bad shots today, but a crazy amount of his misses seemed to take weird bounces and led to A&M points.

Honestly, I think he's played great the last two games. If this is how he plays the rest of the year, this going to be fun. His defense has been good for a long time, but he seems to be much more well rounded offensively.

But as has been said, having three other guys on the court that can shoot opens it up for everyone. We haven't had this since 2012.
