Think back to the Big East Tourney. We had Melo, yet we were missing a powerful, yet often overlooked key to our game in the paint...
 
CJ Fair was ill, & it showed.
 
We will need him to step up his shooting & rebounding if we want to challenge for the Big Prize, & more so than any other player on the front line. You can't count on BMK or XMAS to shoot the midrange jumpers we will need . Those two have to increase their rebounding numbers, but CJ will be the Flagship for what happens up front. 
 
I remember watching Stevie Thompson jump over people taller than him to grab rebounds, & I would wonder how he was able to do that amongst the giants. Steven could jump out of the GYM !!! Sometimes, if you really want to do something, you will be able to do it...
 
Something else to consider:
 
The 2003 championship team wasn't necessarily dominant over other top teams, they just seemed to always have an answer to the enemies' attacks. Each player took turns making a big play, & it was Beautiful !!! I loved watching Josh Pace fly into the lane with his unorthodox shot, & GMAC'S fearless marksmanship. 
 
This 2012 version has won many games with answers, & I hope they continue to do this 6 more times...
