While going through some old family pics, I came upon a few Phoenix high school football team photos, undated but circa 1908. My grandfather is one of the players and he was born in 1892. Here's the first:

My grandmother played women’s basketball. It was 6 v 6. 3 players on the offensive end, 3 on the defensive end, as I understood it.
I think my brother is still the only D-1 scholarship athlete (tennis) from Phoenix, although one of the Montoney (sp?) brothers may have gotten a basketball scholarship in the 70’s.

My son plays varsity baseball for Phoenix and they have a pitcher going D1 to St. Bonaventure. Was just the Byrne Dairy Athlete of the Week.
