[QUOTE="OrangeMuskyFish, post: 125578, member: 261"] I think Ryan will have his share of tryouts, with a good shot to latch on as a scout team QB and perhaps even work his way up to a backup, at which point anything can happen. I do not think he will get drafted though. He does have a lot of tools, and I think he will have a very good year next season. So this isn't a knock, I just think that he's already sitting on the outskirts. The combination of the success of youngsters Cam Newton and Tim Tebow, the re-emergence of Vick as a media machine, and the hype over RG3, all point to a resurgence of non-traditional QBs that could lead to more athletic options pushing Ryan out of the late rounds. That said, I do think that people get a little too carried away in regards to Ryan's pocket presence. He isn't an overly smooth athlete, very herky jerky, but it's hard to tell how good his footwork in the pocket is if he doesn't trust that stepping up will ultimately avoid a sack. Too much of a weak link in the middle of the line, mixed with Hay's ole blocking on the outside, and you have a slaughter on your hands. It would not shock me if during workouts (and neutral conditions) Ryan actually was given solid grades for his footwork. Ultimately though, he isn't good enough to get drafted without intangibles, and he does posses some of them... but if he can't become a leader on and off the field as a 5th year senior, who has owned the job for 3 years... nobody is going to take a shot on him with a draft pick.
