Kid is playing great right now, could be a big piece next season and Pitino tells him to transfer after the season? That's like JB telling James to transfer after the season yet continues to play him major minutes each game.

To be fair Swopshire is a Redshirt Junior so he has been at UL 4 years and he will be getting his degree in May. Its kinda like what JB did to Devo, but without announcing it before the season was over. Devo wasn't asked back even though he had 1 year of eligibility left.

Its definitely classless to force the kid out for sure. JB waited till the season was over and let the kid sell it like he was ready to move on.

A little strange. I guess Pitino could always change his mind, and it gives Swopshire the chance to look for a good situation more easily.

Certainly seems like he can find a depth role on a decent BCS team if he wants.

Reminds me of NBA teams who will play a player to market him to other teams so they can rid themselves of the player. I thought Swopshire played well - maybe he'll get a good bite from a decent team as a result??? It is very strange though.

Did anyone else see when Pitino was reaming out Dieng in the first half after giving him the quick hook and as he starts walking away Dieng starts laughing at him.
