Anyone Following Steven Clark's Eligibiity?

Steven's had issues with his shoulder (specifically a torn labrum - partial) since the middle of his freshman year. Was told by med staff that surgery wasn't an option because linemen don't throw footballs. They didn't even bother doing much PT rehab on it. I sht you not.

At WMU, they're aware of the issue, and are probably going to do surgery on it at the end of the year (per Steven's request, I believe).
What were they thinking!?!? I don't specialize in sports rehab, but that sounds like a load of crap, considering that the shoulder joint is an inherently unstable joint compared to many other joints in the body (the "socket" that the ball seats in is much shallower than the socket of the hip for example). It relies almost entirely on soft tissue support and the labrum is a huge part of that. That's certainly important with regard to all of the hand fighting and pushing a lineman has to do, and I would assume it could affect his ability to lift weights too. And, I don't know, someone in their early 20's may not want their shoulder messed up anymore than it has to be for the rest of their life.

I think the injured labrum is the reason why he's having a rough time getting that 500 lbs max bench. He's pretty much been unable to breach 480ish for the last year and a half.
