If JB is not in a position to be magnanimous, then who on this big round ball is? The question - in as much as he even let the guy ask it - is valid. Reporters come to the PC with many goals, maybe this guy was writing a piece about Roberson or the development of players at Syracuse, or whatever.

Additionally, you can't play this "oh you think you know better than me" card, when JB himself was less than a minute removed from saying he should have subbed Grant out more because he was tired at the end of the game. In fact he said the whole team was tired and "had lost a step on defense" towards the end. Coach can't have it both ways - to imply that his decisions are beyond questioning right after talking about self-admitted mistakes.

The bottom line is that it appears JB feels that only he can evaluate his own performance. Or at the very least the media is not qualified or "allowed" to judge it. All things considered, who can blame him? He's earned the right to feel like writers aren't qualified to judge him. We've certainly seen the media make more mistakes in their jobs than JB has done in his in the past 5 years!

This got longer than I thought it would. To wrap up, this particular incident doesn't terribly bother me, but I have always felt that JB makes himself a smaller man when berates media people, especially these local mopes.
