Anyone know why Southerland is getting any NBA love?

Yeah, his handle is not NBA level at all, but you would figure as deadly a spot 3 point shooter as he is, he could get a flyer in the 2nd round.

steve novak, ryan anderson, matt bonner, anthony morrow...james southerland? i can see it. doesn't hurt he is an above avg athlete, and a good enough defender. if he has a consistent year i can see him getting a shot as a 3 point specialist.

Last night he had one of SU's better individual games in recent memory. His outside shooting was incredible. He is also doing things around the basket with his defense and scoring that is much improved.

If that article says he was receiving some NBA interest before last night, im assuming his play against Arkansas solidified it and probably opened up alot more scouts eyes. He really is a Rashard Lewis clone. Athletic freak who can shoot over anyone.

You can tell just by the pace of his shot with his lower body that he is extremely confident right now. HE used to rush his lower body into the shot in games IMO.
