Anyone remember this game?

One of my favorites is at 7:20 between Mike G and Malcolm Brogdon. Great sportsmanship.

My favorite parts are 2:17, 6:30 and 6:48.

can't wait until next season...
I have watched the last 10 minutes of that game at least 15 times. I get mad at that ref every time I have watched the end of the Zags game.

The line is such a cliche now with the movie's popularity but the way I described watching this game was "that escalated quickly". It all happened so fast. Just unbelievable.

I just watched end of Gonzaga and UVA again. 2 games I will cherish!!

Outside of 2003 (obviously) this was my favorite run in Syracuse I've witnessed. My favorite regular season was 2011-2012 without a close second. Just two magical seasons in their own respects.

3 elite 8s in five years.
5 sweet 16s in 8 years
2 final fours in 4 years.

Don't close the book, there are more chapters to write.

Count me as one who will eat crow this year as I was pumped about the 16-17 season and considered this a transition year between the player changes and newcomers. All that said the accolades you posted along with the guys coming in meshing with the guys we already have I have a feeling that we'll add onto what you posted in the coming years. I for one can't wait.

I'm sure you're a young guy but 1996 was amazing. If you can find the game against Georgia, it's well worth your time and effort. One of my favorite games ever.

As soon as I posted this I remembered 1996, I was 17 at the time and remember it like it was yesterday. I guess at 37 I'm losing my memory faster than I'd like.

I wasn't angry after the end of that run because we lost to a better team but I felt like "when are we going to get this far again" type mood and just felt so bad for JB not having the "big win" whereas now JB has the title, built the program into a top 15 "at least" and the awful regular season overcoming almost the impossible against VA. Thinking back I still put this post season over that one even though that team won one more game in the tourney.

Awesome. I agree with all of this. I was 24, soon to be 25. That UK team was stacked but it was still a crushing loss, and yes, I felt awful for JB.

Anyway, I was out with friends during the Georgia game. I don't know why, but we were at this bar that we had never been to, watching the game. It was not very close to where I live. Anyway, somehow in the second half, the game wasn't on. Not sure why. I go nuts. My friends didn't want to leave. I didn't drive. I started calling cabs from a pay phone. I didn't have a cell, to my recollection. I was not good to drive and I didn't have my car. I never drive drunk and I was buzzed at the very least. And I didn't have my damn car. Eventually, one of my friends agreed to find another bar because I was having a meltdown. I was making a scene. I was the only one who cared about SU and the other guy who drove was a jerk; he wasn't a friend of mine.

We did find another bar. I could barely get the game on the radio on the way. It was an awful reception. I was dying. I missed a good chunk of the 2nd half. Got to the other bar with like 2:00 left. The other bar had the game on every tv. I will never forget that game and that run. Epic game and run. Huge Otis Hill and John Wallace fan for life.

Last night at our year-end officials' social, (yes, we drink beers and tell rude jokes :)) the position - right to the last man-jack among us - was "What was he thinking?" And just for the record, we all agreed also that he had been terrific right up to that point. :noidea:
