It was a very interesting game to watch considering last nights officiating. Higgins actually did that game.

They called nearly EVERY hand check committed by defenders, and you can hear the officials say "you, with the hand".

We're there a lot of fouls called? Yes. But the game was 1000% less physical than today's games. But it was extremely physical for that era.

Officiating has changed sooooo much. Not just our league, but others across the country. We need to adjust to it.

Coaches have also figured out that if you foul every time, you'll get away with it over the course of the game.

And you force a lot more turnovers than you deserve.

It's tough, because every game seems to be officiated/played so differently.

You can see Jackson on Wisconsin looking at the ref at least twice already indicating Craft has two hands on him. No calls.

VCU pressed today, and they pressed w/out riding the offensive players hips down the court - after watching our game they have to question that ridiculous strategy. It certainly would have helped to just push the player bringing the ball up to the sideline every other trip.

It just creates confusion and makes for ugly basketball. It'd be nice to go back to a more fluid game.

I don't think we're the ones who need to adjust.

watched both the 85 GEORGETOWN GAME and ST johns OT game the other night.
what pressure ? we got the pearl. and gene waldron was pretty clutch as well. good tonic after a bad loss. pearl had 18 assists in the st johns game. no stopping him up court once he put his head down.
there is indeed an argument to be made for sherm or bing as top pt guard. but for me it's the pearl.
