B1G CG winner would play the SEC CG winner. So either Oregon, Penn State, Texas, or UGA is Champ (4 teams still alive).

4 team playoff
B1G winner would be the 1 seed. SEC winner the 2 seed. Notre Dame would make it as a 3 or 4 seed. A close loss by Oregon could keep them in as the 3 seed. Same for Texas as a 4 seed. SMU could sneak in as the 4 seed by winning the ACC CG. So one of Oregon, Penn State, Texas, UGA, Notre Dame, or SMU (6 teams still alive).

My proposed 9 conference split where conferences are capped at 10 teams...

AAC: Army vs Memphis (or Louisville) 
ACC CG: South Carolina vs Clemson
Big 8 CG: BYU vs Iowa State (or Mizzou)
B1G: Ohio State vs Indiana
Big East: Penn State vs Notre Dame
MWC: Boise State vs UNLV
PAC: Oregon vs Arizona State
SEC: UGA vs Tennessee 
SWC: Texas vs SMU

Playoffs are the 9 conference champs and the B1G, Big East, SEC, SWC losers plus Bama and then Oregon should they lose or Boise State should they lose and Oregon wins or Miami if both Oregon and Boise win.
