. Under Maryland v. Brady the defense team of Ray Rice was given a copy of that elevator video. The NFL is hiding behind asking law enforcement who was under no duty to give the tape. When the NFL could have said Ray Rice you won't be reinstated until you show us the tape as since criminal charges were filed we know your legal team has the tape. Instead Goodell and his team are playing the grossly incompetent canard over negligent card.
Sheriff Goodell gave Ben Rothlisberger 4 games in 2010 for ALLEGED rape in a bar. There was no tape of him dragging a girl AND no criminal charges were filed. Even with just the first tape and criminal charges against Rice all Rog gave him was 2 games.
Now the NFL is engaging in CYA covering your a$$es and Roger is shown me enough to want this dink to be gone. He isn't going to get my faith anymore the  NFL needs a new leader.
