That’s the biggest issue, Syracuse needs to get to 40,000+ fans consistently, then a lot of the game day complaints would go away almost organically (and game day traditions could develop organically). The local AHL team had a few players go to my kids school last winter and play games with the kids.  My kids were already hockey fans, but friends of theirs who weren’t started to ask their parents to go to games.  Even my daughter paid more attention during games when the guy who played with her class was on ice (prolly a 2nd/3rd line wing) because she wanted her “friend” to do well.

No idea if Syracuse has players go to local school, I’m sure there’s a lot of logistical challenges with that.  If it’s not done or is rarely done, step that up.  Ideally tie it somehow to NIL to get the players appearance money.

If there was way to get photos of cheerleaders and dance team members with kids, school visits would present the least risk.  I’m also not sure that’s viable to send cheerleaders to local school, but if it’s possible it should be considered.

Get preteen kids to want to go because they feel a connection to the team; mom and dad will take the family to games as a result.
