Their lone loss was to Penn State in the season opener at Happy Valley when PSU was ranked 9th or 10th. It took a very late score by PSU to tie it late and force OT, which PSU won in the first OT period. Just sayin...

I think the question is if that is the only notable game on your schedule does that deserve a top-25 ranking? PSU probably isn't a top-10 team this year, like their early rankings suggested. App State getting up for 1 big game and (barely) falling short then being able to sleep walk through the rest of the schedule doesn't necessarily shout top-25 to me.

and not to defend App St., but they were playing their 3rd string QB the whole second half.
