is down to Temple, Syracuse, Hofstra, UConn, Villanova, Rutgers & Xavier. Also got a UNLV offer today, according to Alex Kline

Kid is a playmaker on offense. But would be a MAJOR liability for the zone.

That is one lopsided list and I doubt he has offers from 2 or 3 of those schools. Total guess, I'll say he ends up at Xavier.

Meh only Temple/Hofstra don't really belong. Fact is he is probably 5'6, that spells doom for playing major D1 college ball.

I'd expect Xavier, too. He's a 2014, so he has plenty of time to change his mind.

Temple is pretty good. They're 6th in all time wins, so they have history they can throw at recruits...

The kid is absolutely sensational but as noted above our zone would not be our zone with a 5' 6" component.

Great scorer, but I'm a bit concerned by his size as well as the low release point of his jumpshot

And as science has taught us, people stop growing when they're sophomores in high school.

...did 'Cuse really offer...surprising...he does not fit in a zone defense nor would he do well in against a 6'2 PG...
We should PASS on him regardless of how good he may be...not for us

:cool:Remember anthony Davis grew over night !! never under estimate his height this young man is one hell of a ball player & he is only a Junior . SYRACUSESUball better grab him if they know what i know about his potential .
If you don't know about him check out his youtube clips , he won:bat: CO-MVP at the top 24 Best Players Classic in August .SUball

yeah im sure you know about him than syracuse does. everyone looks good on their youtube clips.

unless he grows 6 or 7 inches, he doesn't fit here.

Syracuse could always use a spark plug off the bench you can never turn away his talent , height isn't everything he is little shorter than Jerry Mac . Believe me i know talent i think you should do your homework , WE CAN USE HIM A POINT GUARD IN THE FUTURE !!!

He is cut from the same cloth as Earl Boikins or a Calvin Murphy. There is no doubt that he is incredibly talented but again, at the end of the day, the effective running of the vaunted James Boeheim Syracuse zone requires size and length as a prerequisite. Perhaps by the time he would arrive here Hopkins would be calling the shots and might have a different approach to running the team. Doubtful in my opinion but possible nonetheless. I wouldn't doubt that Hop signed an agreement to implement the 2-3 zone for the entire length of his tenure at the helm before being designated HCIW (Head coach in waiting)

GMac was listed at 6'2
Carr's listed at 5'6

And for as great as GMac was, he was pretty abd at the top of the zone.

He would have to grow a whole lot... like 6-7" is minimum. Ain't gonna happen

EXCUSE ME - THIS IS ALEX KLINE - I NEVER WROTE THAT AQUILLE CARR WAS DECIDING WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS. HE IS NOT. IN MY TWEET, I WROTE THAT I AM - NOT AQUILLE. THE PERSON WHO STARTED THIS CHAIN MESSAGE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE. Thank you

With all due respect Alex, you seem like a nice lad (and congrats on the successful recruiting venture - hope you make bank), but you also look a little short to be playing on top of the vaunted, SU 2-3 zone.

Sounds like a good fit for Hofstra or Butgers

Yeah it looks like this is concerning Alex Kline's college decision and not Aquille Carr's. If you check out this article from september: http://www.southorangejuice.com/201...le-carrs-top-5-quality-education-package-deal In that link his top 5 is Kentucky, Memphis, UConn and Syracuse, and Seton Hall. In the tweet in question Kline writes, "Less then 24 hours until i announce my college decision between Xavier, Hofstra, Syracuse, Temple, Villanova, Rutgers & UConn." Only two of the teams on these two lists match. Also in his most recent tweet he says he will announce his own college decision at 8 pm. Idk how exactly OP got his information, but it is very misleading.

I think Gerry was listed at 6 feet, actually.
