Are we

We're on our way, way being to a winning season, meaning THIS season only. And that's it, but I'm good with that and will take it.

Gotta crawl before ya walk and walk before ya run, we're walking
Oh I know, just seeing a bright side again

Great win, but we did turtle up a bit towards the end of the game, and were bailed out by an opportunistic D. Hopefully we can be slightly more aggressive in tight games going forward.

Agreed but I think some of that was from not having full confidence yet in GS running the offense

Definitely. the kid is still rusty, assuming he is THE guy now he will get the crucial first team reps in practice that he needs, and of course more game action as THE guy. His arm is very suspect and his throwing motion is, um, odd, but he brings better legs, aggressiveness and field awareness. We need not only him to continue improving but we need some WRs to step up, guessing that will have to be Taj and the youngsters because the other veterans just don’t seem to be the answer

Rutgers are 20 point dogs vs Michigan. I want to see how they do. I hope they put up 40 points.

I don’t know what being back means anymore as I got completely turned around on the 17th corner we turned a few years ago. But I will say that beating a top 25 caliber team in a completely non-flukey way while also leaving a lot of meat on the bone is a great sign of progress. We finally have the athletes on D and one game beaker on O to compete in the ACC. Our o-line and receivers are still sub-par and it’s not clear yet whether the qb can survive a full season, but from a talent and athletic stand point we can at least compete and that’s not something we could say when Babers got here. Unfortunately I still think our biggest weakness is our offensive coaches… they are NOT back.

Call Paul Johnson on Monday morning; bring him in as an offensive consultant.
Shrader, Elmore, Adams, and Tucker in the backfield.

Lot's of games are decided by an opportunistic D. I don't see that as a fault. I would love an explosive offense to go with it and give us some easy wins but would not be surprised if we have to grind out way to any wins we get this year.

I hope we develop/find a QB to go with that D that returns so many guys next year and the running game that returns a bunch of pieces too.

Ugly so far. They tried a trick play oh 4th down, Michigan ate it up.

Let us know forget that maybe the most important person for our win last night was their coach. Do we get a FG if they had kicked theirs? they wouldn't have been throwing so no fumble like that. But of course if we had got a fair shake from the refs against Rutgers...

I think we need 2 big things:
- Some WR’s, even just a couple that can get open and catch.
- Maybe a new OC (I’m leaning more towards, absolutely a new OC)

Obviously QB situation is weird and who knows if it can get us to 6 wins. Hopefully we have one guy that is going to come in and be solid next year, year after.

* this is NOT a negative Nancy post for those sensitive board members. I think we’re looking more and more put together. With some really good pieces and some, “can absolutely get the job done” pieces. With an even average WR group I think we’d start looking very dangerous.

Rutgers taking Michigan to the wire

might not be a bad loss by the end of the season

My concern is something happens like when SU beat Clemson...five straight losses to end the season. We've been down this road before as fans and I am still gun shy.

We are 3-1, just beating a team ranked higher than us; Michigan just struggled to beat Rutgers at home; Clemson just lost to NC State; we have a beatable FSU up next. What dose all this mean? If I knew that I would be employed by a huge betting site in Vega, for substantial bucks.

What I do feel is that it’s more fun to support/ get behind the team to see what they can accomplish.

If it works out right there will be a bonus bowl game!

Go Orange!!!
