If you can get him 1on1 within 5 feet he probably has a 75% chance of scoring or getting to the FT line. He also will not be the priority of the help defense so it begs the question why not more? I know the team sucks but if you are paying him and not going to the playoffs why not give the guy 20-25 min to see if he can do more.
So many 5s are undersized, he stands a good chance of finding a spot. Every player fighting for a place in the league wans San Antonio. They know how to use role players and they win. AO would be fortunate to land there. All right! Way to go, AO!
I really, really, really, really, really, really hope he can parlay this into an NBA contract next year with some team. I have a feeling that if he could just latch on for a full season, he could carve out a 6 or 7 year NBA career. I know he's undersized for a 5, but he rebounds well enough and his offensive prowess would make him a decent bench big.
Would love to see him as the 10th man on San Antonio.

Are we sure AO is a legit 6'10" ?Agreed any second unit guy would love to be there. Undersized 5 man in the NBA are more or less the norm on 2nd units these days and half the starters probably aren't any taller than 6-10 legitimately.

He's a smart young man. I bet he's scoring through contact too since I imagine opponents would prefer to smack him around, foul him and force him to the line. Sure wish he could get his FT% even to 60 so teams could afford to play him in crunch time. It has to be mental - he's worked hard to to improve it at SU and beyond.
He should stand sideways at the line with his shooting arm facing the hoop. He could then get his forearm vertical and follow-through straight despite his big body size. He's a smart young man. any tips for hitting a drive straight?
Like this?Round ball with dimples, swinging in and arc with movement on 3 different planes, hitting with a fairly flat faced implement into inconsistent weather conditions. Good luck! Hitting the golf ball straight is actually the hardest shot even for the pro's.(sans really short irons/wedges) I would recommend an athletic upright stance that still gives your hands room to play in and out at the bottom. Most importantly aim for a very specific and small target taking into consideration your intended shot shape. Keep you eye on the ball and swing aggressively. Once in awhile this works for me but hey at least 95% of the time I smash the ball, direction be damned, and that in and of itself is enjoyable.

That's just my practice swing man!
I knew that, because the ball is still there ...
LOL. That dude has major reverse pivot going on. This one guy used to make me do a drill where I had to lift my left foot at the end of my backswing and lift my right foot at the end of my follow through. Works wonders for ballance, proper weight transfer and eliminating swaying or forward movement of the hips rather than rotation. It actually have pretty quite feet now as I hated that drill.
