Arkansas suspends starting defensive backs for flirting with Mississippi State dance team

That's crazy. Who wouldn't. Chad Morris every see those girls?

Pretty clear to see after year 1 that one school hired an offensive smart football coach with proven success as a HC and as an OC for the job and one hired a coach with the right connections who really had not proven much at his last stop.

So, if you some of you guys were coach, you wouldn't have a problem with your players chit-chatting with cheerleaders, band members, the fans during pre-game, especially those of the other team? If not, that's fine, where's your line? At what point does it become an issue for you? Would you care if the whole team did it?

I would definitely have a problem with this. After the game? Chase any skirt you want, before the game? You have a job, prepare to do it. I'm not sure the level of punishment was appropriate. Maybe suspend for the first quarter and make them run hill sprints until they fill a 50 gallon trash can with their own vomit.

I remember people on here recanting how they interacted with Virginia Tech football players prior to games. It was trash talking and not exchanging phone numbers. So where is the line? Is it ok if it's trash talk but not flirting?

If the guys have a reputation of practicing hard and prepping well, I would have a stern conversation monday morning and I would minimize it in the media with some sarcasm. If they don't do their job during the week, there should already consequences.

I wonder if this would be an issue if they had won?

A full on suspension is way over the top for this unless these guys have been counselled for doing this in the past. Suspend them for a quarter or a half and be done with it. This is a power trip along the lines of taking a jacket from an injured player.

In my day, coaches would have barked at the guys, got them back into focus and at the end of the next practice would have made them and the rest of the team run suicides until they were "appropriately focused". Simple...

Private discipline and a stern talking to might be warranted. But Morris is coming off like a jerk. Some guys get less punishment for actual crimes. A full game suspension and public tongue lashing is an absolute farce.

Did it impact his performance negatively?

Now were talking. I had to do a double take when I saw this. My blurry eyes saw the "m' was an "rn", in the twitter name of the picture, lol.

I don't think anyone said they shouldn't face any consequences. The public nature of the punishment, its severity and whiny public dress down is overkill

If they're into that sort of thing.
