...is how would ESPN have handled this if the hallways in Bristol CT were NOT swarming with Orange?

Seriously...dozens of Syracuse alums patrol the control rooms of the WWL...it makes it that much more curious to me that the cable channel has essentially had an idea on taking down the University for 9 years or so.

Not in any way saying that the net should show "preferential" treatment or anything, just that I am curious what the inner workings were given what have to be a lot of divided loyalties...

i don't think that plays a factor in this at all

I know it doesnt ultimately play a factor. But subconsciously, I wonder what the alums that work for the WWL are feeling and/or thinking. I know that if it was me, I would ultimately report it if it was warranted, but it would not be easy, and there would be some inner turmoil.

For the benefit of visitors to this forum who might be unfamiliar with Syracuse University's academic offerings:

BJ = Broadcast Journalism

I was going to post the same thing Maxwell. We don't need any misunderstandings right about now.

That being said, most BJ majors woud totally do that to themselves if it was physically possible. No one loves themselves more. ;)

News reporters/producers are usually vocal SU fans. Sports BJ people tend to root for one team: Team Me.

Remember Ryan Burr, a Newhouse grad taking shots at SU all last year?

It's like posters on here who accuse everyone of wearing Orange-colored glasses. Don't want to be a homer. Nothing worse in sportsworld.

As a side note- It's not called BJ any longer. It's now called BDJ- Broadcast and Digital Journalism.

Thank you for the clarification...wouldn't want anyone to get confused.

That said...adding "digital" to BJ is a little...well...nevermind.

It's a different world.

I didn't realize you could major in that. Now I know what all those drunk girls at Konrad's were studying.

I was a history major precisely because it was such an easy major. I wanted to do Newhouse but my laziness got the better of me and within about 2 weeks of college I just didn't care. History is all about blue book essays, which are ridiculously easy to BS for solid grades with minimal studying.

SU needs to institute an equivalency metric, like a 2.8 in engineering is a 4.5 in fashion design.

Right there with ya, they ground us to a pulp for 4 years culminating in propulsion class senior year where Lyman was content to fail everyone if need be.
