Everyone doesn't come into a situation like Ryan Nassib did where all he had to do was not screw up. Even Eric Dungey's first couple of seasons were mired on bad teams that also had issues at the line which is why he ran as much as he did. Tommy has things to improve on, but I feel like people on this board are way too critical of him. The fanbase is the one who anointed him to be the next great thing since sliced bread b/c of his rating. We can dig up the threads from 2018 where Dungey played poorly (vs. Pitt, UNC) and page after page were calling for him to be put in. It's been quite the heel turn on him.

To your second point, a "qualified" P5 coach isn't going to do much to a kid that has their mind set on where they want to go and the offense they'd like to play in. If you want to make it to the next level, you're going to be attracted to a pro style system. Miami does a great job at selling their school. Even with the year they had last season, they are killing in recruiting. Penn State is a school that people dream of playing at. We can continue to hold Sandusky and Paterno over their heads, but their recent classes were kids when that happened. It has no bearing on their decision.
