Assistant coach in game participation.

Watching the V. Tech / Penn State game. The head coach relies on his assistant coaches for advice throughout the game. And he often asks them for input especially during timeouts - before talking to his team. Typically he gathers all of his assistants for a ten second brainstorm. JB can learn from the V Tech coach.

well, there are a couple of questions:
1) does he listen to anything they say, or is it for show;
2) do they pre-assigned roles and things to report to the coach at each stoppage (fouls, time outs left, etc.)

That said if JB doesn’t think enough of his assistants to get input, why are they there?

All good points. To me he uses them as a sounding board and takes it to heart. 4 heads are better than one. That is the V Tech coach, not JB.
