ATH Ryan Drakeford: Virginia Tech was active in the DMV this week and added to the list with an offer to Waldorf, Maryland native Ryan Drakeford. The 2028 athlete currently sits at 5'11", 165 pounds as an eighth grader. He currently trains with former Hokie cornerback Roc Carmichael. Virginia Tech is his first Division 1 offer. "My goal is to make the Varsity roster and contribute," he stated confidently. To achieve this goal, Drakeford follows a rigorous off-season training regimen designed to enhance his strength, speed, power, IQ, and overall skill set as a defensive back and wide receiver.

Despite his early success, Drakeford remains grounded and focused on continuous improvement. When asked about his recruiting process, he emphasized the importance of staying dedicated and coachable, noting that "recruitment is ongoing." While he has yet to receive any official offers, Drakeford remains undeterred, maintaining his commitment to hard work and perseverance.


Beyond the field, Drakeford is a standout student with a 4.0 GPA throughout elementary and middle school, boasting HSPT scores that place him in the top 5% nationally. His dedication to academics is matched only by his passion for sports, having excelled in baseball, basketball, and football at high levels. "Most importantly, I'm a believer in God and grateful for his many blessings," Drakeford added, showcasing his humility and gratitude.
