There is a reason certain programs on average are winning and others not, not matter of the coaching carousel.  This is not 100% true but I think it’s true more often than not.

So, if you are a program that has decided you want to compete for conference championships (and even CFP births) and you haven’t been that type of program in the past, get a coach you believe in and relentlessly upgrade your infrastructure consistantly over the course of 5-10 years until you are top 1/3 of P5 and your results will almost assuredly follow.

I don’t believe you need to be top 10 in infrastructure to compete, but if you’re not top 1/3 of the peer group you are trying to compete with, then you found where the money should be spent (probably not on another buyout and another overpriced ‘name’ coach)
