Welcome Augustus to the CUSE Family...Do we think he will still be a RB at CUSE? His high school coach stated that by the time he gets to college he could be 6'3 240 lbs and he will play alot more defense this year

He'll be given every opportunity to be a RB here.

His coach also said he's currently 6'2 225 and he's pretty chiseled. There won't be any overweight issues with Gus.

Awesome news...keep the NYC pipeline flowing. The City kids seem to be digging this representing the NYC at the Cuse. EO you're next up.

BTW, I thought Rutgirls fans said we only get their B list guys they didn't want?

Gus moves and runs like a running back. When I look at Devan Carter's footage, I see a really terrific athlete playing running back but not necessarily a natural @ RB, so it's easy to see why he projects as a linebacker in college.

But Gus moves, cuts and wiggles like a running back. He runs runs hard w/ a nice burst and a tinge of malice. You never know what's going to happen when he arrives on campus but IMHO that kid is a running back. And a damn good one.

There to busy reeling in a commit from a player who hasn't played football in 3 years over offers from James Madison and Temple.

Power, burst, vision, agility, good hands and elevated trains passing by. What's not to like? He has a chance to make himself into the Staten Island Exrpressway.

nice breakdown. i agree.

Very nice! When is the second half of the package deal expected to announce?

Nothing on Syracuse.com, but a nice article on Breanna Stewart :blah:

Sweet, on the front page two hours, at most.

Guess it's not important as a Uconn womens basketball commit.

Good job! Good effort!

First, great news. Second, I have been pretty critical of the PS football coverage of late and I agree this is big news for cuse football fans. But let's not forget that the head coach of the program has made little effort to develop any sort of report with the paper. I'm not blaming marrone, I'm not insinuating I know the answer, but the better the relationship overall, the better the coverage, usually. Journalists are supposed to be objective but everyone is human.

So happy to have him join THE University of Syracuse!

very accurate. That's exactly what I see. Gus will be a RB. He's not going to break 70 or 80 yarders, but he he will find his way through some tight lanes and get those 10 to 20 yarders that you think he couldnt get. He will occasionally bust a 50 yarder. His style fits the current scheme at SU. Plus he is big enough to be a great pass protector.

welcome augustus (i really like that name)you will get an opportunity immediately we need big help with the running game-- get the most out of the education as well--newhouse maxwell etc etc lots of opportunities

Actually, the Post Standard posted Edwards to SU at 9:55 am about forty
minutes before his announcement.
