Averaging 89.3 points per game thus far...

Wonder what is the highest average for a 3-game stretch for Syracuse? Maybe somewhere with the 6OT game nestled in?

Looking only at a 3-game stretch, there are going to be a bunch of times when SU has averaged 89 ppg or better since the scores are usually pretty high in these early OOC games. Just looking back at some of the recent seasons...

12/11/10 - 12/22/10 (4-game stretch)
Average: 93.3 ppg

2/23/10 - 3/2/10 (3-game stretch)
Average: 93.0 ppg

11/27/09 - 12/5/09 (3-game stretch)
Average: 92.7 ppg

11/11/09 - 11/20/09 (3-game stretch)
Average: 94.0 ppg

3/7/09 - 3/12/09 (3-game stretch, inc. 6OT game)
Average: 100.7 ppg

12/8/08 - 12/30/08 (5-game stretch)
Average: 95.2 ppg

And for the month of December during the '02-03 season, we played 7 games and averaged 93.9 ppg.

Not sure about all-time, but I know in 1989-1990 we opened the season with a 101/game average in the first three (95, 108, 100) and then topped it two games later with 92, 105, and 129 (108.7/game) in consecutive games. (God that team underachieved.)

I also think one of Dave Bing's teams scored like 97 a game for the whole season.

They ended the regular season with Colgate and needed to score 124 to become the first ever team to average 100/game for an entire regular season. Only managed to score 122 that night and left the average at 99 and change. Must have been a fun team to watch.

I dont remember the year but i remember one of devo's teams where we gave up 90 or something like that to Rhode Island and then scored 125 the next game.

The 125 came the night he blew out his knee, unfortunately. December 2007. And we were just coming off scoring about 90 in a loss to Rhode Island and 100 in a loss to UMass. This thread suddenly turned depressing.

that was probably the worst defensive team i have ever seen.
