may give hope to the ACC.

The Big Ten also could consider exploring a scheduling agreement with another conference

Here is article:

And this may serve as reason that we are not hearing much about ACC and Notre Dame...with the above falling apart, it helps Notre Dame to schedule out of the B1G and Pac 12. On the other hand it opens up possibility for the ACC--getting to be many moving parts...keeps the twitter world going as Dude of WVU reports today that FSU is coming to Big 12 (twitter)

The Dude reports everyday that FSU is going to the Big XII. If the ACC upped and signed a 100 year Grant of Rights, the Dude would still say FSU is headed to the Big XII. If FSU were to completely get rid of their entire athletic department, the Dude would still say FSU is headed to the Big XII.

This all obviously opens the door for Oklahoma to the Big Ten.

This is a good thing for college football.

And it makes sense that such a relationship would cause scheduling issues and hurt W-L records.

I suspect that both conferences decided that in light of the new play-off system there was no need to give themselves super difficult OC schedules.

It's not like there's anything stopping these schools from scheduling non-conference games anyway.

I heard from a source of mine that the B1G may turn to the ACC now that the P12 is out. They already have the B1G-ACC BBall challenge and would like to expand on that. The ACC however wants every team to be included so the B1G would have to expand to get to 14. He said that it will be OU and KU going to the B1G. Things are starting to pick up.

Supposely the presser for FSU to announce its leaving is Tuesday at 4pm. :blah:

Oh goody another line in the sand benchmark...what are the B12 trolls like 0-13 on Thing X will happen on Y day?

What is the twitter handle of this dude of WVU guy?

ACC might need to go with an 8 game schedule to make it work. That was my biggest takeaway from the article, that the Pac 12's 9 game schedule gets in the way.

If 12 is going to be the max amount of games, I think there are limitations to a 9 game schedule. There is really no way to guarantee 7 home games per year unless you decide to play 2 1AAs, or tell a MAC that you're never traveling to their site, ever. You would need to play 5 of every 6 of your OOC games every 2 years at home. 2 out of 3 in the 5 conference home game seasons, and 3 of 3 in the 4 conference home game seasons.

ACC sticks with 8, they'll have room for an arrangement like this.

That's the funniest thing about these guys. It's not enough to just say rumors are floating. They give deadlines and times. And when the time passes, they wait a few weeks, say "things changed", and then throw another date out there.

Telemarketers are more genuine.

Whenever "Tuesday at 4pm" is used in terms of WVU realignment news, it's meant sarcastically. In other words, another done deal, not done.

The latest rumor is that the ACC has changed its by-laws, and August 15 may no longer be the date to withdraw. Big 12 tweeters/bloggers are on the trail to find the new by-laws.

DarthSwoff strikes again. :rolling:

Cheers,
Neil

Harold Camping is their scheduling milestone consultant.

I read that someplace but don't know where. It wasn't a message board or blog. It was an article and the writer interviewed someone in the ACC offices. The guy wouldn't confirm anything though. The writer also said the by laws were taken off line and were no longer accessible.

Lol. I guess I could have found that.

I was just going to type the same post. It's a blog by TuxedoYoda who claims to be a Texas fan and has 1165 posts on Scout, of which 923 of them on the WVU board.

Cheers,
Neil

I heard that they've already committed. The only reason it's been kept quiet is that it's a Silent Verbal... on Bevo's request.

I've been reading on other boards where the ACC has been approaching the SEC to schedule more games each year. I don't know if it is a full slate in a rotation like this was supposed to be. I guess it couldn't because FSU, GT, and Clemson already have their annual SEC matchup scheduled. It could for the other 11 schools.

The ACC already has the annual challenge in men's and women's basketball with the Big Ten Conference. I imagine that it would continue, but nothing more formal in football. But, who knows?

The PAC10 doesn't want to be aligned with a conference that allows a PedSt to remain.
