Some coaches like to reward the guy who has worked hard for four years and is a senior so the senior starts, they get subbed out rather quickly if the junior or sophomore can play better, that system works for that coach.

Rest assured that player evaluation is being completed.  Let's not forget that off season "voluntary" workouts are on going and the coaches keep tabs on this.  The stats are already in the books and a good idea of what kids can do is on paper (or in the computer).

HCDB does not need to watch a lot of old game film because his system is different.  He has already clarified that he does not need a massive playbook.  The kids will run the same plays over and over with the variations and they will practice fast, no huddle style.  Plenty of time to make evaluations of how a kid will play in HCDB's system.  Also, there is spring practice and the summer practice, evaluation talent won't take that long, the cream will rise.  Other kids will play roles and will develop more over time.

Just my opinion, but I think our Orange will be just fine.  I expect a bowl game.
