That's not really practical for a college environment.  Most players don't even get playing time for 3 years.  I think it may be kind of coach speak and trying to temper expectations.  I think back to when Brian Kelly took over at UC from Mark Dantonio and actually coached the team in a bowl game shortly after being hired.   Two very different coaches with 2 very different offensive philosophies.  But Kelly made an eye opening statement saying "The playbook is not really that different.  It's the play calling that's different.  Most of the plays I'll call are in Mark's playbook, they probably have different names and may have a little dust on them but they are they and the players know them."  That is kind of what I expect next year.  I doubt we'll see much we've never seen because lets face it SU has used a multitude of formations, motion and plays the past several years ( remember the keyword: "multiple"?!).  We'll just see a different mix of plays in the various game situations.  Eg. We've seen a lot of 4 wide formations, but probably not often on 3rd and 1.
