The world's greatest Halloween display.

Uh... I think it's a little creepy showing a date of death for an actual human who is still alive. I get the rivalry death things... but I have a serious problem with showing a date of death for a person who is still alive.

Creepiness aside, not even sure I "get it"

Even though I agree with CTO, I think the overall idea is great. However, there is a good chance that 3 former Big East(non ACC) teams could be ranked ahead of us at some point this season(2 already are, and Georgetown is nipping at our heels with some votes). RIP Big East, you are missed

especially considering mourning had a kidney transplant a few years back and has to take immunosuppersive drugs which render him susceptible to even trivial infectious agents.

Not creepy so much as just bad form, especially given Steveholt's point, IMO.

If this is the world's greatest Halloween display, then the world really really sucks at Halloween displays.

All you old people are seriously the worst

That's racist against the elderly ;) Older fans would likely understand the bitterness displayed in the photo a little more than less seasoned fans, one could assume.

One might think that but as shown by the replies I think you are giving them too much credit.

not sure what age has to do with knowing when something is in poor taste and when something is not. BUT, let me tell you the odds are that if a bunch of people are older than you and think something is in poor taste, they are probably right. one day you will understand youngsta'

I love you all regardless of age. Go Orange! Im guessing the OP had good intentions, no need to pile on like a a fumble or anything. This reminds me of when everyone wanted Bill Clinton to show contrition. I do have to say I prefered the 2nd halloween picture though. Creative and made me grin. Pumpkins are Orange folks, it's our month!

Lets take a moment to reflect on common halloween themes - scantily dressed women pushing the limits of public exposure amidst this being something more for children; Every version of inappropriate costumes making light of sensitive issues/events; haunted houses that sensationalize violence and illegal actions. I think being a tad over judgmental on a fun harmless little halloween decoration is a little much. I think its cool and is by no means in bad taste. Good stuff JOC!

Hey, Zoo! I hope all is well.

It's amazing the things that offend people these days. I'm pretty sure the OP wasn't wishing death on any of the people in the display. It's a joke. SMH

I'm sorry if I created a firestorm here... but I have been to too many funerals in the past year or so... including Orangeyes and Rob Edson (whose death, at a young age, was totally unexpected), three close friends from GE (all younger than me) and two relatives (one younger than me). I am sorry... but I think it is in terribly bad taste to make fun of a tombstone (with date of death) for someone who is still alive. My two cents. Sorry.

Agree CTO. I've experienced the same this year. Age does tend to make you look at things from a totally different perspective.

I always look down at the "RE" painted on the sidelines at the Dome in honor of Rob Edson. A great tribute to a great guy.
