Assuming everything is as bad as has been said with Deere, we are suddenly pretty low in the lefty department on man up. Not sure if there is a lefty on the roster who can fully replicate what we got out of Hiltz and Deere. Hopefully a guy like Anderson is up for the task. Maybe Charlie Kraftson would be too. My favorite dark horse possibility might actually be freshman Bogue Hahn. Looks skilled beyond his years when it comes to stick skills and shooting. I thought Deere would have a serious shot at a full time spot as a second line middie next season. He was playing there in the Binghamton scrimmage and he even had some nice plays dodging on their short sticks. Think he knows what parts of his game he has to improve to see the field. Similar to a guy like Thomson who expanded his game a good deal from his sophomore year to last season. Thomson also was able to get over similar yips finishing that Deere had as a sophomore. I think there is absolutely room for a guy with Deere's skillset at middie, especially if it was to compliment more speedy dodgers like Hottle McCarthy or McIntee. A guy like him can make a lot happen out of pick plays/two man game looks. I think this is a pretty significant loss, but easier to take if the injuries are not too severe and he can make a full recovery for next year.
