I think that too much will be put on ennis, especially with cooney as the secondary handler. I mean, cooney was barely allowed to dribble so far. silent g...I hope I am wrong but seems like more of a forward than a guard, he looked like crap in the first exhibition. sometimes we have a forward that handles well in the open floor, but I don't think cj or jerami seem like that type of guy right now. pressure teams like duke will make us pay for this.

It will be interesting to see. I"m not sure if this is an answer to the question or not but I tend to think decision-making is a greater factor than pure ball-handling. I feel you're far more likely to see a turnover as a result of a poor decision than from sheer defensive pressure. If -- and that's a pretty big *if* -- Ennis is as ready as most here believe he is, I think we should be OK in most of our games. CJ is a smart kid who can handle it a bit. Same goes for Grant and Cooney. The question with Duke will be athleticism -- if they are athletic enough then that pressure D can wreak havoc, particularly on this type of team (limited number of true ball-handlers). But if we have an edge in athleticism, we can give them plenty of problems even if they force their share of turnovers.

Against pressure, one countering move (used in Canada, when CJ was injured) is to swing Gbinije to a forward spot. It might be his more natural position, and it gives us three ball-handlers plus Grant who can put the ball on the floor fairly well for a 6ft 9 player.

In the half court, the ball-handling is pretty decent so long as Ennis is the principal guard. CJ can handle & pass.
