It's very difficult to assess Bama's defense because Bama's offense is #2 in the country and would probably be #1 in the country if they didn't blow everyone out in the first half.   We have seen a lot of garbage time in most if not all of Bama's games so far.  That means Bama's #2s and #3 see quality minutes each game on both sides of the ball but I think it shows up a bit more on their defensive stats.  Plus, Bama often scores quickly, so the Bama D is on the field quite a bit and that can skew the numbers a bit as well.

When I look at LSU this season they have faced one high calibre offense, Ole Miss.  They played Miami, but Miami's offense is at #85 in total yards currently.  I think the other decent offense LSU has faced is Georgia at #29 nationally in total yards per game.   Miss State is currently #71, Florida # 79 and Auburn #83.  So, I think LSU's numbers on D which I posted about earlier are pretty accurate.  I wouldn't the let the names on the schedule sway me too much.
