Baseball Championship Game Takes Wild Turn

Saw that on the local news last night. It's not the umpire's job to tell the catcher that the runner is still in play.
The catcher seemed to know….he got up and looked down to first as the batter started running. Not sure why he seemingly decided he didn’t have to bother throwing down?

Because the 1st baseman was in a dog pile on the mound?

OOOOOPS.

Recently, Rule 5.05 (a)(2) came into play during the New York State High School Baseball Championship for Section V, Class B1 teams. The game was played between Hornell High School and Palmyra-Macedon High School on May 27.

quote : Hornell wins it !!!!...wait

" is this the way it's gonna end ?????"
not with a bang ...but with a brain fart.

so funny and yet so sad depending on your loyalties..
