After the Tigers series (5/24-26/19) METS Single- 64 Double- 37 Triple- 4 Home Run- 103 Walk- 7 Balk- 1 Out- 6 Error- 3 Sac Fly- 8 Sac Bunt- Wild Pitch- 3 Passed Ball- Hit by Pitch- 3 The Mets have scored 239 runs so 43% are from home runs OTHER GUYS Single- 70 Double- 47 Triple- 2 Home Run- 89 Walk- 4 Balk- Out- 12 Error- 3 Sac Fly- 15 Sac Bunt- 1 Wild Pitch- 2 Passed Ball- 2 Hit by Pitch- 1 The other guys have scored 251 runs so 35% of their runs come from home runs. The Mets continue to score runs but their erratic pitching is holding them back. One trend I don't like is that, after starting the season with a balanced attack, they are reverting to depending on home runs to score: they are scoring now because they are getting them but what if the power slackens off? they still need to score in other ways. They out-scored the Tigers in this series 17-16 but 14 of the 17 Met runs were the result of home runs and only 6 of the Tiger's runs were. And many of the Met homers were coming from unlikely sources like Adeiny Hechavarría, (31HR in 826 major league games). If the Mets were producing runs in as many ways as the Tigers did, (singles, doubles, sacrifice flies), they would have swept the series.
