The Mets scored just 3 of 14 runs via home runs, (21.4%). The Braves scored 5 of 16 that way, (31%), so it was a series that put a premium on other ways of scoring. The big thing was that the Mets lost 7 straight games in which they had at least a 2 run read. The starters gave up 18 runs, the bullpen 23. the game that broke the streak was similar: the Mets lost a 5-4 lead when the braves scored two runs off of Chris Flexen. But they something they did not do in the seven previous games: they answered, retaking the lead to win 8-5.
