Also, of course Louisville going for it on 4th a lot improves their yards per game. If they convert even once all season they have more yards than if they never went for it. It's a tautology, teams who go for it on 4th will inevitably have more yards.  The analysis you didn't do is what is the correlation between going for it on 4th and points given up on defense. I'd wager that my group from above gives up less points than your group that goes for it all the time, which includes such powerhouses as UMass, Washington State, and Purdue.

I actually happen to agree with your point that we should go for it on 4th down more, but the arguments you made for it provided absolutely no basis for doing so.
