If we saved them then we would've gotten the ball back down 9 with about 2:20 to 2:25 left with all 3 timeouts and the 2 minute warning so basically 4 timeouts. Then you know how fast you have to score and if you need bigger plays plus you can kick the field goal early if you think the best path is FG to save time then TD. Not to mention the clock stops after a first down to set the chains in the final 2 minutes of each half.
