BC is paying GT a small portion of the overall money they are getting from the Ireland people, this game is a net positive for BC (the IRL people could have paid GT directly for travel expenses, but the whole $$ amount went to BC and they allocated GT their cut). That quote in the Globe was misleading. They will play at Fenway again, but with the IRL trip, they want to make sure they have a certain number of games on campus. BC would have absolutely sold out Fenway for ND had ND not controlled the gate. I think a conference game would do the same, but not uconn, they bring no excitement and it would only give their mouth breathing fans more reason to show up. In all honesty, it wouldn't shock me if they played Holy Cross at Fenway when hat series starts again. The other fear with Fenway, is doing it too much will make it boring and uneventful. The hockey event at Fenway got that way very quick. Once you removed BU from the equation and did it a second year, nobody went. I agree that BC/Cuse would sell out Fenway, but so would any conference team to be honest. It is a reason for the casual fans to come out, especially in a place like Boston. Cuse for instance doesn't bring any more or less fans to BC than most other schools, but having at Fenway would be a reason for the casual fan to show up
