even though their starting QB left the game in the first quarter and Dillon had a bad ankle in the second half limiting BC's offense and forcing the BC defense to spend more time on the field. The Clemson offense scored just 20 points (7 points were scored on special teams), and they surprisingly were just 5-15 on third down. I think it's fair to say that Clemson hadn't faced a solid defense in quite a while. The Tigers' offense put up big numbers recently against Wake, NC State, FSU and Louisville, but none of those teams play quality defense, and Wake and Louisville are among the worst in the nation.
So, looking ahead the Cuse will face two strong defensive squads. Outside of Clemson, these are perhaps the only strong defenses on SU's schedule. It should be fun to see them compete. Go Cuse!!
