Anyone else notice Seton Hall at 8-1 with W's over VCU, St. Joe's, Wake and Auburn? Only loss against a 9-1 Northwestern team. Herb Pope, for as long as he's been there, has consistently been great for them.

They have had a great start but there OOC schedule has been beyond easy and something called Mercer just took them to OT. Once they get to Conference play I think there lack of scoring is going to kill them as Pope and that one other kid arent going to be able to carry them against the better teams ie Uconn, Lville, Marquette, Gtown etc.

I think that this year you will see the top group really separate (SU, Lville, Uconn) I'd put Marq in that group except they lost their big guy so I have them just below that group. After that the Hall could compete with Pitt and Gtown in those 5,6,7 spots.

Seton Hall got taken to overtime last night by something called Mercer. I am not a believer yet.

IMHO, the surprise team this year will be Georgetown. They're young, but have the athletes to do some damage.
Plus, their leaders ( Clark, Sims, & Thompson) are all vets. They do better than expected & should make the Dance as a 3-8 seed.

That schedule is ranked 18th according to the almighty RPI. If we're gonna praise our schedule based on RPI, SHU should get some props.

Look at the teams not the RPI, that will tell you all you need to know.

After Syracuse and Louisville there is a small drop off. After Connecticut, Pitt, and Marquette there is a huge drop off.

Seton Hall hasn't beaten anyone. Then they lost to Northwestern. If that team is a sleeper in the Big LEast, then I can't wait to get out.

It seems like Herb Pope's been at SH forever...

This is our year vs. UL... We simply can't get taken behind the woodshed by them again. I don't think my heart can take it...

not sure who else they have but if they have some shooters this game worries me, especially coming right after some days off for xmas

Lol. Didn't even catch that in Jeremy's post, but I posted the same wording last night in another post about Oregon's court, and I figured I'd just reuse it, cos I'm lazy. :D

I'll believe SH when they win 20 games
I'm not sure they'll get there, but it wouldn't surprise me if they take over the 8th or so spot in the BE this year and beat up on the RU's, USF's, Seton H...um...Notre Dames and such. If they can win the games against the teams in the lower half of the league, along with a few upsets, I think that'd be pretty surprising

LOL I think thats where I got it from to (oregon post). I mean its one thing to struggle against a mid major hey it happens to everyone all the time but OT by Mercer, Jesus.

If there was ever a year to take advantage of down teams, and I mean DOWN teams in the BE, this is it!
