So, I was just looking at the latest Bracketology and noticed how both Cinci and UConn moved up to 9 seeds. It almost benefits you more if you do just enough to stay on that 10, 11 or 12 line. Both teams did pretty well in the Big East Tourney and they get rewarded with having to play the #1 seed if they get past the #8 seed of course. Being a # 11 seed is ideal for both of these teams in my opinion, you play a #6 seed which is Murray State, Vanderbilt, ND, or Creighton. All very beatable teams and then you play most likely the #3 seed who are all very beatable as well. Anyone else notice this?

UConn had a post on their board about this.

One point they raised that I thought was interesting is that 10 seeds have a winning record against 2 seeds in the second round.

If that's true, being a 10 is far better than being an 8 or 9.

If the NCAA tournament wanted to be most fair, they would re-seed after each round, like in the NFL.

But that would do away with much of the Madness...and office pools.

yup. plus you would reward the top seeds and have a better shot of having great final 4's as opposed to the stufffest we had last year. never gonna happen though.

Be "most fair" for all teams? A 16 seed would then have to beat #1, #2, #3 and #4 to get to the Final Four. Yeah, that sounds "fair".

Perhaps you should convince Wimbledon to switch to this format first.

Billy Packer suggested reseeding for the Final Four.

The tournament is great as it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
