Right now we have three players shooting over 80% from the line (and that doesn't even count Battle who is at 78%).

This is extremely rare during the Boeheim era. The only other season which finished with three players over 80% was 1978-79 with Marty Headd, Danny Schayes and Rick Harmon.

Roberson just has to find a way to get his mojo back at the line and we will be good. He has missed his last 10 foul shots.

I have never been more confident with someone at the line than I am with Gillon (even GMAC). It is a nice change to say "okay we are going to the line!" rather than "okaaay we are going to the line...?"

I like Gillon at the line but he tends to fall backwards off the line sometimes. And ball almost misses but still falls in. When he is firm on the line and poses his freethrows they are swishes everytime

and he has T-rex arms.

Surprised Hal Cohen was under 80% that season. Actually, he never cracked 80% in any season.

Didn't even remember Rick Harmon, and I was there. :)

I met Rick Harmon in a casino in Las Vegas two years ago. Nice guy. I believe he said he transferred? Ended up going to law school in Iowa or someplace, said he doesn't get back to Syracuse often but always roots for Boeheim.

If there is one person in the history of Syracuse Basketball when it comes to free throws I don't think the line "I like Gillon at the line BUT" really applies to him.

Almost misses but still falls in? It went in, he is a great free throw shooter and it's not a fluke, this isn't the first year we have data on his percentages.

He's an excellent free throw shooter and has been on a fabulous run at the line, with almost every shot going through the bottom of the net without touching the rim.

It really is a refreshing change, after all of those years of struggling at the line.

I'm so confident when Gillon goes to the line [and Lydon, and White]. What a "weapon" for the team having a few guys with the calm demeanor to knock them down, even in close game situations.

I looked him up and saw he played only one year at SU, transferred to Old Dominion but was injured there and never played again. Glad to hear he is doing well and is still a fan.

Rick Harmon

He went 14-14 and 7-7 the last two games. What can you say about?

And I believe Gillon hit his final 8 in the Florida State game. 29 in a row leaves him 8 short of Triche's school record, five short of Mike Lee's #2? Something to watch for on Saturday.

Well im still saying he is a really good free throw shooter but there is still room for improvement. Just saying as good as he is he could be even better if he stays on the line longer. He could go from really good to great

Rick Harmon

Harmon was part of a three-player freshman class that included Ron Payton and a guy named Ed Goodson or something like that. The freshmen confronted Boeheim in mid season to complain about their playing time and that became a brouhaha at the time. Payton stayed around but the other two guys transferred.

Ed Gooding. Transferred to Iona.

Ricky Harmon was from a small town in South Jersey. Years after he transferred, my wife and I went to a shore bar. When we sat down, I looked at the bouncer/security guy/whatever, and said, "That looks like Ricky Harmon." To which my wife of course replied, "Who?" I asked our waitress if that was Rick Harmon. She looked puzzled and said ,"Yeah, it is."

She sent him over and he seemed genuinely surprised and pleased I recognized him. He sent over drinks for us, and sat and talked for a while. Really nice guy. He told us the biggest mistake of his life was transferring out of Syracuse.

Hope all is well with him.
