Ben Lewis senior highlights

Great video. He has very long strides when he runs. Excited about him. Give him a redshirt year to add some muscle and get faster, and he could make a huge impact when the Ashton area starts at QB ;)

Honestly, this was the least excited commit we got, But after watching his highlights, I see the next Alec Lemon. Despite the level of competition and lack of raw athleticism I love his effort and I think he will be a great program kid who will contribute more than we think

Very high on Lewis, who I think is going to be a big weapon for us, especially in 3rd down situations and in the red zone. Love his physical play. With our lack of quality depth at WR, he has a chance to play right away. A lot depends on how the young WRs develop this spring (and whether Alec can play this fall).

I've said it before, I think he may be a Lemon clone. They look very similar to me. Looks to make some great plays on the ball to go up and get it and has no fear of laying out. Kid didn't come in with any hype but looks like a player. We needed Lemon his freshman year but I'm hoping we don't need Lewis this year. Hopefully Lemon is ready to play this year and Lewis can step in and replace him after a year of redshirting and learning from Lemon. We could possibly get 4 productive years from him. Can you imagine having Lemon an additional year.

My brother in law is on the Middletown coaching staff. He likes Ben because he's a throwback to the tough-nosed, keep coming at you type of player. My sister in law likes him because he's such a nice young man. Let's hope all of that translates into something good at SU.

Absolut steal from what I have heard and seen, especially if he is indeed 6'3". Will defionitely start out at WR, but he also has the skill set to play OLB or safety.

Thanks for the link. I like his film too... That said, this area of MD usually sends a couple of kids to D1 programs each year. By no means a hotbed, but an area we shouldn't sleep on due to the relative close proximity.

Ben reminds me of a receiver that the broncos had Mcafery? Rangy kid with great hands. Ben looks like a football player to me looks like a gamer. From looking at his film you cant teach most of what Ben has. Very good get by the staff.

I love hearing this kind of stuff. Just like with Cam Lynch I really liked this kid from the moment he committed and I read a little about him and watched his film. My favorite style of football is that old school work-as-hard-as-you-can type of player, and sadly that type of player does not come along too often anymore.

Couple of thoughts from the video, he seems to have good hands (although I doubt he included his drops in a "highlight" video), and average speed. The couple things that I see is clearly he has great instincts (on one of the touchdowns he adjusted to a slant and go and the safety was completely flat footed), and he made great adjustments on balls in flight. To me those are unteachable things. The rest can be improved. If he can get off the line of scrimmage he could be pretty good. I think Lemon is faster than he is (against college kids Lewis would not take a slant and go 60 yds like Lemon has) but I can see the comparison.

good points. I know Lemon is faster at this point. I saw Lemon's high school highlights. Back then, Lemon was no faster than Lewis is right now. Lemon has worked on his speed since coming to SU. how many times has lemon taken a slant all the way. Once?

When I was doing the write-ups on our commits during the fall, Ben's statlines were my favorites to look at. On any given game he'd have like 7 catches for 120 yards, a TD, a handful of rushes for a few dozen yards, 8 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a pick, and like 80 yards on punt returns.
