Berbers 4th down punts

In games like today where clearly the other team can score instantly, you need to be aggressive. You have to take chances and play to win. You can't hope something happens.

The USF game going for it on 4th and 3 up 17-0 at beginning of 2nd quarter. Was the turning point in the game.

I hope Dino isn't basing 4th down decisions on how the media feels about them.

I'm going to chalk this up to a frustrated coach making a snap comment.

I really hope so too, every situation isn't the same, you have to coach your team your way regardless of what other people think

I agreed with the 4th downs today. Babers will go for it on 4th down on the oppenents side of the 50 if it's less than 4-7 yards to go.

Today it was always 4th and long and we were on our own side of the field.

Seems pretty straight forward to me.

I don't get all the respect for Stephen around here. I think he goes out if his way to be a douche. I don't think it's a coincidence that two staffs in a row can't stand the kid.

Few weeks ago. Half the people here were blasting him too. Personally I want him to go for more of them. The offense needs every chance it can get to score.
I must have been celebrating too loudly to hear the idiots who had a problem with it. If Dino is too afraid of a little criticism to make smart judgements then that's incredibly disappointing.

People obsessing about punts are morons

Fact is that they did string together a series of stops and the offense didn't get points with some good field position

You coach the situations in front of you not some geek probability

It was actually 17-7 on the play that you are talking about...and in fact if he hadn't of went for it on 4th on 2 out of 3 possessions before that it would have been 7-0 not 17-0...

Yup. I had no problem with that. We knew USF would start scoring. We had to keep scoring. Our offense was rolling at the time. It should have worked...play was there, the throw was just a little too high.

I think Bailey gets a lot of respect on this board for the chats he does and I do love those and the info he gives. The whole Dungey "injured" fiasco this week kind of pissed me off and reporters should be called out when they are careless or incorrect.
