When Payton Manning goes down, we see just how valuable he is by observing how much the team's performance suffers in his absence.

When Bernie Fine, um, goes down, we see just how valuable he isn't by observing how much the team's performance doesn't suffer in his absence.

SU's recruiting got better when he stopped recruiting and SU's play got better when he stopped taking up space on the bench.

...so lets put him on ice...and just as his chair is filled by someone else, it is time to move past the BF era or error or whatever it was...NEXT

I was wondering where you were headed at the beginning of the second sentance...

Of course, "headed" might not be the best verb either...

Can we refrain from starting any more threads that reference "he that shall not be named"?
Its kind of a buzz-kill on the basketball board & should be kept on the scandal board where it belongs.
Just sayin...

us being better without him doesn't have anything to do with why he was let go.

there is an encouraging trend that the more hop gets involved, the better we get. happened in recruiting, happens in teaching. this bodes well.

He's not Peyton and most certainly not John Syracuse.

In the mid-90's I worked at a production facility that had two lines. #1 had an uptime in the 70's (constantly not running due to unplanned issues), #2 had an efficient around 95%. I came in one morning and two freshly painted signs hung above the machines - The one above #2 said "Hillary"...the one above #1 said "Monica". I asked what was up with the signs and the crew said they had renamed the machines since #1 and #2 were too plain. The one renamed Monica was always going down, the one renamed Hillary never was. I had them take the signs down...but I'm pretty sure I still have them somewhere because I thought it was funny as hell.

Obviously has nothing to do with Bernie Fine...but if any thread is worthy of being hijacked its this one.
