He should come out with a clear statement that these allegations are lies.  He also needs to announce that he has hired counsel to sue the accusers, Mark Schwartz individually, and ESPN and ABC for libel and slander. Things that I wonder is if Bernie's wife was at the 1987 Final Four.  That would likely debunk the whole story.
      Also, pedophiles don't usually continue the relationship past a young age, so that seems odd to me. 
      On the other hand,  did Bernie ever sue the guy for the $5k.  If not, why?

I would also like to see Bernie announce that he is stepping down.  He can use this as a forum to denounce the system where we blast unproven allegations all over the media and label people without evidence.  Then state that because of ESPN he can never effectively work in his position again as it requires recruiting young men and their families and that despite the fact that he is innocent and will be proven so, he is stepping down for the good of SU.
