What do you guys use? Trying to find a good mix of rewarding correctly picking the later rounds but not too much as to render the early rounds pointless.

Distribute 30% of the payout based on the leaders at the end of the first weekend. Then give 70% of the payout based on final standings.

You can then decide if you want to weigh more on the end games or not... but either way you are rewarding performance in the first weekend when over half the games are played.

I love the system that multiplies the round by the seed. This gives those who pick the 8/9 games and the annual 12/5 upsets. Picking UK to win this year is easy but 6 x 1 is only 6 total points compared to picking the high seed early games. Getting the 12/5 upset or upsets gives twice as many points as the popular UK wins the tourney pick. This system rewards the knowledgeable fan as opposed to the person who picks all the high seeds.

I've always used 1-2-3-4-5-6 in my pool, but there's nothing wrong with 1-2-4-8-16-32.

My way rewards you for getting 1st and 2nd rounders right.
