Best SU 0-2 Team Ever

Ok, a little flare for the dramatic. But honestly, we are a lot better than our record shows. In my opinion, this is the best SU team (offense and defense) since the McNabb era. If we can fix our ST issues, I think we have a better shot of beating USC.

I remember last year our defenders bouncing off of offensive players like a pinball machine. This game, maybe once or twice. Not only is our defense faster, but they are stronger. I'm also pretty happy with the DL play and the pressure on the QB. Take away some of USC's big plays, and we are in there guys.

Special teams is awful. Tackling is poor. QB gets rattled far too easy. This is a 5-6 win team that might fall short of going to a bowl game. That isn't good. Not in this day in age where damn near everyone goes to a bowl game.

I would take Nassib over RJ any day. The defense back then may be better though but not by much.

hard to say the tackling is poor when really we only have pro's from usc to compare too. the NW kids were pretty good as well. if we struggle next week then we need to be worried.

I think 2001 was better but 2012 could hang for a while. Better QB, better receivers on this year's team.

Because you know what 2001 became right now it was better, this team has a lot of young players who will be better as the season goes along. We need to find a kick returner for kickoffs and punts, why not hunt he isn't playing QB and he is athletic?

I would say 1966, 1996 and 2001 are our role models for what we need to do now. I don't care how this team compares to them. I just what this team to do waht they did and I think they can.

I never predicted we would win 2 or 3 games. I simply said IF we win 2 or 3 games (because we have a tough OOC schedule and Doug has been poor in BE games) then Doug should be let go. No need to spin or twist my words. I am not running away from anything I have said. But at least get it right.

To be bowl eligible this team needs to go 6-4 the rest of the way. Based on what I've seen so far, and the fact that Pugh is close to returning, I see that as very doable.
